The trade of Sean Monahan last Friday puts Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens in an excellent position. Indeed, the organization now has two first-round picks for this summer's draft (MTL and WIN), as well as in 2025 (MTL and CGY).

Moreover, according to comments from Sportsnet journalist Eric Engels, it wouldn't be surprising if the CH's general manager used his "assets" to acquire an already established attacker in the Bettman circuit. Of course, several names come to mind, but one player in particular seems to greatly interest Montreal fans, Trevor Zegras.

The star attacker of the Anaheim Ducks is at the center of several trade rumors currently, having a tough season with a modest tally of four goals and three assists (seven points) in 20 games. Furthermore, it's important to remember that his relationship with Pat Verbeek is somewhat strained as the general manager did not want to grant him a long-term extension last summer.

Recently, very interesting information was revealed by Maxim Lapierre, mentioning that the American forward was linked to the Montreal Canadiens ahead of the trade deadline.

While many observers expect Kent Hughes to offload some veterans on March 8th, could he cause a major turnaround by acquiring the services of Trevor Zegras?

This is definitely a case to watch closely!

Adding the 9th overall pick in 2019 would completely change the dynamics of Montreal's attack and finally allow Martin St-Louis to put together two offensive lines. There's no doubt he would instantly become a crowd favorite, having accustomed Ducks fans to simply spectacular maneuvers in recent years.

Since his arrival in the NHL, the 22-year-old has accumulated an impressive total of 53 goals and 93 assists (146 points) in 200 games. He has huge potential and could explode alongside his good friend Cole Caufield.

Trevor Zegras to Montreal, do you believe it?
