The NHL trade deadline is quickly approaching, and many fans are wondering if the Montreal Canadiens' General Manager, Kent Hughes, will make any more trades by March 8th.

After all, the player who was generating the most interest, Sean Monahan, has already been traded, but some veterans might still be potential candidates to help a team aiming to go far in the playoffs.
Indeed, the names of Jake Allen, David Savard, and Tanner Pearson have recently been circulating in various speculations. However, according to information reported by David Pagnotta, another player from the Canadiens could soon be leaving the organization.
According to his sources, Finnish forward Joel Armia is garnering increasing attention on the trade market.
He believes that if the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge is willing to retain 50% of his $3.4 million salary per season, some teams might contact the Canadiens' GM to complete a trade.

Joel Armia traded to the arch-enemy?

In light of this information, an observer has suggested the Boston Bruins as a potential destination for the former first-round pick.
Once again among the NHL powerhouses, Don Sweeney's team would be looking to add depth to its attack, and Joel Armia could represent an interesting option, especially if Kent Hughes agrees to take on 50% of his salary.
"Armia at $1.7M for two seasons [50% of the salary retained] would actually be a good addition for a team looking for a player who excels in puck possession. He could be an interesting option to bring depth to the bottom 6.

Boston seems to be the perfect place for Armia, in my opinion." - Costa Rontzocos

Although the 30-year-old right winger is unfortunately known for his glaring lack of consistency, he has been playing excellent hockey for the past few weeks, which could increase his value on the trade market.
Joel Armia has a lot of experience in the Bettman circuit, having played over 450 games with the Buffalo Sabres, Winnipeg Jets, and Montreal Canadiens.
It will be interesting to see if a few teams will contact the Canadiens to inquire about the asking price for his acquisition.
The CH's number 40 currently ranks fifth in team scoring with a tally of eight goals in 34 games this season. He is under contract until 2025 with the Montreal organization.
