Many observers expect Kent Hughes to complete another trade similar to the Kirby Dach acquisition this summer to bring a top 6 forward to the Montreal Canadiens.

As you know, the Canadiens have excellent defenders on their roster, but the organization also has four or five defensemen (Lane Hutson, David Reinbacher, Logan Mailloux, Adam Engstrom, and Bogdan Konyushkov) in its prospect pool who could potentially carve out a spot with the main club in the not-so-distant future.
Furthermore, knowing that the team is sorely lacking in quality forwards to support players like Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Kirby Dach, and Juraj Slafkovsky, several journalists covering the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge activities are convinced that the general manager will sacrifice a young defenseman to add offense to Martin St-Louis' lineup this summer.
Since his arrival at the helm of the Canadiens, Kent Hughes has clearly demonstrated that he would not hesitate to complete trades to acquire a forward who has not, for various reasons, reached his full potential in the NHL, as was notably the case for Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook.
In this regard, Anthony Marcotte believes that a defenseman beloved by fans, Jayden Struble, could be sacrificed by the organization in the coming months. Given that the left side of the defense is rather congested and that this situation will only worsen with the arrival of Lane Hutson, the Tricolore rookie could be a key piece in a trade aimed at adding a linemate for Kirby Dach on the second unit.
"We will have no choice but to move some defensemen, in my opinion. Often, defensemen with NHL experience have more value than one might think. I think Harris and Struble have a good chance of moving." - Anthony Marcotte

This is interesting!
The 22-year-old made his debut in the NHL this season and, even though he has recently struggled, he has certainly proven that he can become an excellent defensive player, practicing a robust style of play greatly sought after by the organization.
Among the names that have circulated in recent months are forwards Trevor Zegras, Kent Johnson, Casey Mittelstadt, and Kaapo Kakko. Of course, it would be surprising if Jayden Struble's value was high enough to acquire one of them, but if Kent Hughes is willing to add draft picks, who knows?
Certainly, this will be a file to watch during the summer period!
