We just witnessed the busiest day of the season so far in the NHL waiver wire.

First, there were two claims among the three submissions from yesterday, as former Canadien Joel Hanley will join the Calgary Flames, while the small forward Matthew Phillips will ultimately return to Washington.
Goalie Aaron Dell, on the other hand, was not claimed.
However, the action doesn't stop there, as four new submissions have just been confirmed today: Maxime Comtois (CAR), Sam Gagner (EDM), Vinni Lettieri (MIN), Jacob Luccini (MIN), and Guillaume Brisebois (VAN).

Golden opportunity for the Canadiens to claim Maxime Comtois?

Late last night, we reported the news that forward Maxime Comtois had signed a deal with the Carolina Hurricanes. He agreed to a one-year contract at the NHL minimum salary.
Since he was sent down to the AHL, the Quebecer must officially go through waivers to be sent to the minors.
This situation allows a team to claim him if they wish, as he is available for free.
Given the need to improve the performance of the Laval Rocket to assist the team in a playoff race, this claim could allow the Canadiens to send Joshua Roy to the farm team, aiming for him to play important games until the end of the season.
Would you like the Canadiens to give Comtois a chance for the twenty or so games remaining in the current campaign and send Roy back to the Rocket for the playoff race?
