In the past few hours, three NHL players, including an offensive forward, have been placed on NHL waivers.

Journalist Chris Johnston has confirmed that Dallas Stars defenseman Joel Hanley, Los Angeles Kings goaltender Aaron Dell, and Pittsburgh Penguins forward Matthew Phillips are now available for free to other NHL teams.
"Players placed on waivers today: Joel Hanley (DAL), Aaron Dell (LA), and Matthew Phillips (PIT)." - Chris Johnston

Interestingly, Joel Hanley's name might bring back memories for Montreal fans, as he was part of the Canadiens' organization during the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 seasons. During his brief stay in Montreal, the 32-year-old veteran played 17 games with the main club (6 points) and 129 games with the now-defunct St. John's IceCaps (35 points).
Since starting his professional career, the defenseman has played 183 games with the Montreal Canadiens, Arizona Coyotes, and Dallas Stars. He has been with the American organization since the 2018-2019 season, playing 32 games this year.
As for the 34-year-old goaltender Aaron Dell, he has mainly played in the American Hockey League in recent seasons. However, he has made his mark in the NHL, playing 130 games with the San Jose Sharks, New Jersey Devils, Buffalo Sabres, and Los Angeles Kings.
Since his NHL debut, Dell has a record of 50 wins, 50 losses, and 13 overtime defeats, with a goals-against average of 2.92 and a save percentage of .905.
Finally, just a few weeks after being claimed off waivers, Matthew Phillips finds himself available again. The sixth-round pick in 2016 has faced challenges establishing himself in the NHL but has been dominant in the AHL.
Over the past two years in the American Hockey League, the 25-year-old right winger has scored 67 goals and 77 assists (144 points) in 131 games. It will be interesting to see if a general manager decides to give him a new opportunity in the NHL.
