The Vancouver Canucks ultimately lost the last two games of the series against the Oilers. During Game 7, they were largely invisible for much of the match.

However, Connor Garland reignited his teammates and the crowd with the Canucks' first goal in the middle of the third period. Vancouver then seemed energized, and they attempted a comeback late in the game, but it was already too little, too late.
It must be understood that this team simply does not show up for big occasions and Game 7s.
As surprising as it may seem, before the two goals by the Canucks in the third period, they had not scored in a decisive game since 2011.
They had been shut out in 2011, 2020, and almost in 2024. It's still astonishing to be so absent in these do-or-die games.
