The first overall pick in the 2022 draft, Juraj Slafkovsky, has seen rapid progress with the Montreal Canadiens this season, showcasing the full extent of his talent.

Indeed, after a rookie year where the forward was unable to contribute offensively with only 10 points in 39 games, he is now proving why General Manager Kent Hughes selected him so high. Since December, the Slovak has made remarkable progress, ranking among the best forwards of the Canadiens.
Now paired with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield on the first line, the three young players have developed quite an interesting chemistry, finally allowing Martin St-Louis to have a true first trio. In his last 25 games, the forward has amassed an impressive tally of 9 goals and 14 assists for a total of 23 points.
He also broke a record within the organization, becoming the first player in franchise history to reach the 40-point mark in a single season before the age of 20. This milestone speaks volumes about the young forward's potential, especially when considering all the talented forwards who have played for the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge over the years.
Currently in the midst of a nine-game point streak, his best career streak, Juraj Slafkovsky issued a serious warning to the rest of the league in his post-game press conference, echoing Cayden Primeau's sentiments that this is just the beginning and that he's just warming up.
«I'm just warming up.» - Juraj Slafkovsky

Wow! We love hearing statements like that!
Honestly, it's really encouraging to hear such comments from the forward. Given that he's only 19 years old, there's no doubt that he will become even more dangerous in the offensive zone in the years to come. With an imposing stature and extraordinary vision of the game, he has the necessary attributes to transform into a real leading player.
Selected first overall just two years ago, Juraj Slafkovsky has quickly become a key forward for the Montreal Canadiens, accumulating 15 goals and 26 assists (41 points) in 72 games this year.
