Trevor Zegras is at the center of trade rumors in the NHL.
In Montreal, many fans hope that a player of his caliber will join the team alongside Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky, Newhook, and Dach.
However, some skeptics doubt that his one-dimensional offensive style aligns with Martin St-Louis's vision.
Maxime Comtois, who played with Zegras in Anaheim, shared his thoughts on the "Sans restriction" podcast. He confirmed the rumors, highlighting Zegras's offensive talent but also pointing out his defensive shortcomings. Comtois believes Zegras will need to adjust if he joins Montreal.
"I think he (Zegras) will have a good adjustment period if he comes to Montreal. He's extremely offensive-minded and good with the puck, a great playmaker. He'll put up points. The only thing is, he's so offensive-minded that sometimes he forgets there's a defensive zone." - Maxime Comtois
He added that Zegras has a good stick and with a bit more focus on defense, he could be very effective.
The question remains whether Martin St-Louis can fully exploit the potential of Zegras, a talented player with 154 points in 211 games at just 23 years old.
