The General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, recently confirmed excellent news regarding Martin St-Louis.

Right from the start of his end-of-year review, he announced that the organization has exercised the option in the head coach's contract, securing his position for the next three seasons.
Naturally, this news opened the door for journalists to ask questions about the future of the assistant coaches, particularly Alex Burrows, who has been severely criticized for his work on the power play. After all, in the last 30 games of the season, the Canadiens ranked last in the NHL in this category.
Fortunately for Burrows, despite numerous rumors of dismissal, he will be able to turn the page on the team's recent troubles and focus on the next season.
Indeed, Kent Hughes has closed this matter by stating that he will meet with his assistant coaches in the coming days to offer them contract extensions, thus dispelling the many rumors about a possible departure of Alex Burrows.
"Kent Hughes says he will meet with St-Louis and the coaching staff tomorrow. Burrows, Letowski, and Raymond all need new contracts." - Eric Engels

It's now confirmed for Alex Burrows and company, who will be returning to the team's environment in 2024-2025!
However, despite this statement, Kent Hughes did not hesitate to mention that the special units must be better if the CH wants to make the playoffs next campaign.
Nevertheless, he refuses to blame his assistant coaches for the recent failures in this area of the game. According to him, the current coaching staff has everything it needs to help the team reach new heights.
"Kent Hughes likes his group of coaches and does not believe he needs an experienced assistant coach to complete the group." - Renaud Lavoie

This is excellent news for Trevor Letowski, Alex Burrows, Stéphane Robidas, and Éric Raymond, who will have the opportunity to be back behind the bench next season.
Certainly, having assistant coaches like Alex Burrows and Stéphane Robidas is a very important asset for the Montreal Canadiens. Having played many seasons in the NHL provides them with invaluable experience and expertise for the team.
