According to the reputable Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Los Angeles Kings have traded forward Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Washington Capitals.

In return, Los Angeles receives the services of goaltender Darcy Kuemper, reports Pierre LeBrun.
About six weeks ago, Jeff Marek from Sportsnet shared this:
"I received a message from an NHL team executive (not Los Angeles or Washington) wondering if a trade where the Capitals acquire Pierre-Luc Dubois and the Kings receive Darcy Kuemper could benefit both teams." - Jeff Marek

And now, this trade proposal has finally come to fruition.
In 82 games last season, the Quebec native accumulated 40 points and added a goal in five playoff games.
As for Kuemper, the 34-year-old goaltender, a Stanley Cup winner with the Colorado Avalanche, maintained a 3.31 goals-against average and an 89% save percentage in 33 games as the backup in Washington.
His contract worth $5.25 million per year is valid until the summer of 2027, while Dubois' contract, at $8.5 million per year, extends until 2031.
