Devastating Announcement Out of Colorado: A Star Player Has Entered the Players Assistance Program Ahead of Tonight's Game Against the Canadiens

"The National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players' Association announced today that Valeri Nichushkin of the Colorado Avalanche will not be available to his club for an indefinite period while he receives care under the NHLPA and NHL Player Assistance Program.

This is certainly a very tough blow for Jared Bednar's men, as Nichushkin was having an excellent season with an impressive haul of 22 goals and 20 assists (42 points) in 40 games.

It should be noted that Valeri Nichushkin was involved in a rather scandalous incident during last year's playoffs. The forward also had to leave the team at that time after an intoxicated woman was found in his hotel room.
