Canadiens Insider Makes a Shocking Statement on Sean Monahan's Trade Value

The TVA Sports journalist initially claimed that the performance of CH's number 91 is similar to that of Elias Lindholm:

According to him, Lindholm's offensive production, which is the main argument for the player's higher value over Monahan, is overrated, while the Swede is merely a shadow of his incredible 82-point season in 2021-2022.

After totaling 64 points last year, he is on track to produce a 53-point campaign this year.

Lavoie added by conceding that, although Lindholm is a better defensive forward than Monahan, he does not believe that, this season, it should necessarily be worth more than the Canadiens' player.

Where the journalist believes Monahan is worth more than the new Canucks acquisition is in terms of everything he can bring to a locker room, thanks to his strong leadership.

He also mentions that Monahan's very low salary, at less than $2M ($1.985M), compared to $4.85M for Lindholm, should also have a favorable impact on his market value for Kent Hughes.

Although I highly doubt that Monahan has a market value similar to Lindholm's, despite several good points from Lavoie, one should still expect a very good return for his services.

In other words, we are likely to be very happy with what we get in return for him.
