After his 72-point season in Montreal, Max Domi wasn't the same player.

In Columbus, Carolina, Dallas, Chicago, and Toronto thereafter, he only reached the 50-point mark once. That was in 2022-2023 with the Blackhawks and the Stars (58 points in 80 games).
Before the last season, he signed a one-year contract with the Leafs. He ended the year well and had a good playoff run. He's a dynamic player who fits perfectly with the style of play sought by Craig Berube, the new coach. The same can be said for Tyler Bertuzzi, who is also a free agent...
However, the news isn't as positive for Domi.
If he wants to stay in the Queen City, he'll have to part ways with his agent. Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun reported this.
Indeed, Judd Moldaver's salary demands are too high, and the Leafs won't pay that for a guy who scored only 47 points.
The playoffs were tough for the Toronto team, but Domi was one of their best players.
