The Montreal Canadiens currently have 64 games played this season, which means there are still 18 games left to play.

In a context where the team is sure to miss the playoffs for a third consecutive season, morale usually takes a hit in the last sprint of the regular calendar.
However, in light of the images shared today by journalist Anthony Martineau from the Canadiens' practice, it seems that Martin St-Louis's team defies normality, as a festive atmosphere prevailed among the group on the ice.
"Festive atmosphere in Brossard.

Cole Caufield scores (what a surprise!) and Joshua Roy misses his chance, sending his white team members skating."

Here are the images:
Seeing this atmosphere is encouraging because it shows that the players' motivation is still very much present within the team, thanks notably to the head coach who stimulates his troops as best he can.
It may seem like a minor detail, but this ability to keep the players interested day after day, in a context where the team no longer has concrete goals related to a playoff race, is a significant challenge.
St-Louis manages to do it brilliantly, and it's something that will pay off in the long term with a young core like the Canadiens'.
