The Montreal Canadiens are actively preparing for the free agency and draft period. Two new players could interest the Tricolore.

Less than two weeks before the opening of the NHL free agent market, two Quebec-born players have become available for Kent Hughes and the Canadiens.
According to TVA Sports, two players will officially become free agents on July 1st, one of whom has been linked to Montreal in the past. Sammy Blais and Marco Scandella will be available, which is significant news for the Canadiens, especially regarding Blais.
Blais has been linked to Montreal on several occasions. He is a Stanley Cup champion with the Blues and could fit well into the Canadiens' 3rd or 4th line.
Thus, Blais and Scandella join the list of Quebec-born players such as Jonathan Marchessault, William Carrier, Anthony Duclair, Anthony Mantha, David Perron, Jonathan Drouin, and others, who will all be free agents when the market opens on July 1st.
"St. Louis Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong stated at a press conference on Monday that forward Samuel Blais and defenseman Marco Scandella will have the opportunity to test the market next month." - via TVA Sports
