As the 2024 NHL Draft approaches, a trade by Marc Bergevin continues to haunt the Montreal Canadiens.

The transaction involving Christian Dvorak between Montreal and Utah still leaves scars on the organization.
When examining the picks held by the Canadiens for next June, an impressive list is noted, but an important selection is still missing.
Kent Hughes still has to pay for the Christian Dvorak deal, as the Canadiens do not have their second-round pick for the 2024 draft, a crucial pick that could have been useful for future trades or for moving up in the draft.
Dvorak was acquired by the Canadiens in September 2021 in exchange for a first-round pick in 2022 and a second-round pick in 2024.
Despite this setback, the new CH management should still be able to maneuver something in Las Vegas in June.
