According to Patrik Bexell, the Canadiens are showing a keen interest in this 17-year-old Swedish defenseman, who stands 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 192 pounds.

Playing for HV71 in the U20 league, Eliasson has caught the attention of Montreal's scouts due to his imposing size.

However, as The Hockey Writers point out, his great size is no guarantee of success in the NHL, and his skating remains a weak point. Ranked as the 55th best prospect by Bob McKenzie, Eliasson recorded six points in 36 games in Sweden, along with 103 penalty minutes and a -3 rating.

He will continue his development at the University of Michigan in the NCAA, offering an interesting opportunity for the Canadiens to closely monitor his progress.
