One of the most pleasant surprises within the Montreal Canadiens organization this season is undoubtedly the rapid progression of the young defenseman Logan Mailloux. Indeed, in his first season in the professional ranks, the Tricolore's prospect has greatly distinguished himself by establishing himself as one of the top offensive defensemen in the American Hockey League.

Thanks to his excellent performances, the 31st overall pick in the 2021 draft notably had the opportunity to participate in the AHL All-Star Game, a well-deserved honor given his astonishing statistics with the Laval Rocket. Indeed, despite being only 20 years old, Logan Mailloux has accumulated an impressive total of 13 goals and 25 assists (38 points) in 58 games with the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge's farm team.
It's worth noting that number 24 currently ranks fifth among defensemen in scoring, just six points behind the leader. Moreover, Logan Mailloux is the rookie defenseman with the best offensive contribution in the entire league, which speaks volumes about his abilities to support the attack and be a constant threat on the power play.
Speaking of Logan Mailloux, many Montreal fans are eager to see him in action with the Canadiens. After all, due to the numerous injuries within the organization, many expected him to make his NHL debut this season, an opportunity that has not yet presented itself. However, we have learned in the last few hours that this situation could change soon.
