The Canadiens' general manager, Kent Hughes, announced the signing of a one-year, two-way contract with goaltender Connor Hughes.
Hughes posted a record of 10-6-1 with two shutouts in 19 games for Lausanne HC in the 2023-2024 season in the Swiss National League. The 6'4'', 231-pound goaltender recorded a goals-against average of 1.73 and a save percentage of .940.
During the playoffs, he helped his team reach the finals with 11 wins in 18 games, a goals-against average of 1.91, a save percentage of .933, and two shutouts.
At 27 years old and originally from London, Ontario, Connor Hughes has never been drafted into the NHL. He began his professional career in Switzerland during the 2017-2018 season.
