Over the last few days, a recurring topic concerning the Montreal Canadiens has undoubtedly been the health status of Cole Caufield. It's worth noting that following the game against the Washington Capitals last Saturday, the diminutive forward missed three consecutive practices. Although CH's number 22 indicated that he was 100%, his absence raised several questions and, more importantly, some concerns.
During his appearance on TVA Sports, Renaud Lavoie confirmed that Cole Caufield sustained an injury in last week's game against the New York Rangers, which he apparently aggravated on Saturday against Alexander Ovechkin and his teammates.
Indeed, the 22-year-old felt discomfort in his lower body due to a contact with Jacob Trouba in the final moments of the game, grimacing as he returned to the bench. He then worsened this minor injury in the following game, leading him to miss this week's team practices.
Fortunately, Cole Caufield avoided the worst, as he participated in the Canadiens' two games on Wednesday and Thursday. However, it's still concerning to know that he's currently troubled by a minor issue, especially since the remaining games don't really have any significance for the organization.
