Bob Hartley is known for expressing his opinion candidly during media appearances. He also has many connections in the hockey world, particularly in the KHL.
The former head coach recently made an interesting statement about a star forward from the Russian league and the Montreal Canadiens.
According to him, Maxim Tsaplykov would be a perfect fit for the Canadiens, and it's fortunate because the Tricolore is reportedly interested in him.
At 25 years old, Tsaplykov is a winger with a strong physique. Although he was never drafted into the NHL, he has proven to be a solid player in the KHL for several seasons before exploding this season with 31 goals for the Moscow team.
"It wouldn't surprise me if the Canadiens acquire him. He's a good skater with a solid build. Very strong on the puck. He's had by far his best offensive season. He has the size and style to play in North America. I see him as a good third-line player. Strong defensively, he's taken advantage of more offensive freedom this year. He's a Russian player who plays the North American style."
