The Montreal Canadiens officially secured the fifth overall pick in the 2024 draft, revealed during Tuesday night's lottery. This means that Kent Hughes and his team will have the opportunity to acquire an impact player, likely a forward.

There are numerous options on the table, with names like Cayden Lindstrom, Tij Iginla, and Ivan Demidov frequently mentioned. As such, predicting who the Canadiens will select on June 28, 2024, in Vegas remains challenging.
Stéphane Leroux from RDS supports the idea of selecting Tij Iginla, highlighting his outstanding performances at the Under-18 World Championship.
"Jarome Iginla, people who have had the chance to meet him, I haven't had that chance often, he's a gentleman. I am convinced, and I tend to think that your parents influence you a lot, Tij Iginla, he'll be a good 'kid.' I am convinced he's from a good family and he was raised in hockey. In my opinion, he would be an excellent choice for the Montreal Canadiens." - Stéphane Leroux
