A surprising news just surfaced on 106.9 Mauricie announcing the possible end of the Trois-Rivières Lions' activities, as early as this weekend.

In fact, it was the morning show host, Alexis Samson, who first revealed this information about the Montreal Canadiens' ECHL affiliate.
EXCLUSIVE - The Trois-Rivières Lions could play their last game ever this weekend!!

Team employees were met for this purpose today.

Details tomorrow at 7:45 AM on 106.9 FM Mauricie

- Alexis Samson

The Lions have faced various organizational difficulties since their inception in 2021. This isn't the first time the team has made headlines for significant problems since the franchise began operations in Trois-Rivières.
It would indeed be a disappointment to see such a significant failure for the Canadiens' organization, but also for Quebec hockey. Many players from the province were able to continue their professional careers thanks to this local team, which prioritized local talent in its lineup.
The Laval Rocket greatly benefited from its farm team for quick reinforcements in case of call-ups.
It's worth noting that the Lions are scheduled to play three home games at the Colisée Vidéotron by the end of the week, including a back-to-back on Friday and Saturday.
This will be a situation to monitor over the coming days.
